Career and Grad School Planning

For those of you nearing graduation, there are two talks this week which may be of interest to you:

Where to From Here: Your Career After UVic
Wednesday, October 22nd, 4:45-5:45pm, DSBC108
This interactive one-hour session will explore the challenges and opportunities that are part of the transition from school to the next stage of your career. Find out about the services and programs available at UVic Career Services to help you make a smooth transition.

Considering Grad School? Preparation and Planning
Thursday, October 23rd, 4:45-6:15pm, CleaC112
In the presentation Dr. MacKenzie will discuss how third- and fourth-year undergraduate students can best prepare themselves to get into the graduate school of their choice; resources to help with graduate school selection; timelines for application; the elements of a strong application; working with faculty advisors; finding funding; and the nature of the graduate school experience. There will be a question-and-answer session after the presentation. Dr. Patricia MacKenzie is Associate Dean of Graduate Studies at UVic and has been a graduate advisor for Social Work and for the Masters in Dispute Resolution program.
